Department of Transport and Main Roads (DoTMR) is upgrading the Cattle Creek and Frances Creek Bridge in Queensland, Australia.

The project involves the construction of 5.8km of road and bridge infrastructure for Cattle Creek and Frances Creek Bridge.

It includes the construction of a new higher-level section of highway from Cattle Creek to Toobanna, a new higher-level, 160m-long bridge over Cattle Creek, upgrade of the existing highway from just south of Pennas Road and Frances Creek, with key locations along this section raised by around 0.5m, upgrading several rural intersections, improving flood immunity at the Frances Creek rest area, construction of related infrastructure.

The project also includes the construction of two new bridges.

The project will be funded through US$107 million from The Australian Government and US$27 million from The Queensland Government.

On September 24, 2015, AECOM Australia Pty Ltd has been appointed as the design consultant.

BMD Constructions Pty Ltd was appointed as the construction contractor and Geoinventions Consulting Services Pty Ltd as consulting engineer.

In July 2017, construction activities commenced.

As of January 2018, Construction activities are underway and expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2018.
