In October 2014, KP and Investec Structured Property Finance (Investec SPF) have agreed an equity joint venture to purchase and fund the construction site.
In October 2015, KP submitted the planning application and in March 2016, received planning consent from the Reading Borough Council.
On October 18, 2016, Kier, the development arm of the Kier Group has exchanged an agreement for lease with Premier Inn to develop a 120-bed hotel, together with a Beefeater Restaurant and Costa Coffee drive thru and enabling works just commenced.
In June 2017, Kier secured US$50.5 million funding for the project.
Construction works are underway and expected to be completed by September 2018.
