The Roads and Maritime Services (RMS), an agency of the New South Wales Government, is planning to build a motorway between Yallah and Oak Flats in Shellharbour, New South Wales, Australia.

The project involves the extension of the existing highway with a four-lane 9.8km bypass. It includes the construction of drainage structures, interchanges and related facilities, and the installation of side barriers, information boards, and traffic signals.

Bitzios Consulting (Bitzios) has been appointed as traffic consultant.

In June 2013, the New South Wales Legislative Assembly (NSWLA) committed US$0.9 million towards a detailed planning study.

On October 28, 2014, RMS unveiled the preferred route for the project.

The project will be funded by the New South Wales Government through a US$258 million contribution from the Rebuilding NSW fund and the remaining from the record roads and freight budget.

In October 2015, EIA completed and was placed for a public exhibition between October 28, 2015, to November 27, 2015.

In March 2017, RMS invited Expression of Interests (EOI) from the contractors for the design-build contract with a submission deadline of April 7, 2017.

Three bidders have been shortlisted are CPB Contractors Pty Ltd; Fulton Hogan Construction Pty Ltd; and Joint Venture of John Holland and BMD Construction.

RPS Group was appointed as environmental consultant for the project.

In June 2017, NSW government committed US$13 million in the 2017 - 2018 state budget for the project.

In October 2017, RMS invited tenders for the design-build contract from the shortlisted bidders, with a submission deadline of January 31, 2017.

Tender activities are underway, simultaneously RMS is still assessing an interchange at Yallah.
