The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is undertaking the Aurangabad to Barwa Adda road project between Bihar and Jharkhand, India.

The project involves the construction of a six lane, 222km road from Aurangabad, Bihar to Barwa Adda road, Jharkhand via Bihar/ Jharkhand Border.

It includes the construction of supporting walls, carriage ways, service roads, road separators, pedestrian ways, toll stations, and installation of traffic signal lights, safety systems and other related infrastructural facilities.

In March 2012, KMC Constructions Ltd was awarded the BOT contract for the project.

The Indian government plans to undertake the project through public private partnership (PPP). The projects will be awarded on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis.

In December 2013, KMC Constructions Ltd served termination notice to NHAI due to delay in environment and forest clearance.

In January 2016, the cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has given its approval for development of the six laning of Aurangabad – BarwaAdda section on National Highway-2 in Bihar and Jharkhand. The approval is in BOT (Toll) mode on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (BOT/DBFOT) basis.

In March 2017, 10% of construction has been completed.
