Network Rail (NR) and Manchester City Council (MCC) is undertaking the construction of a mixed-use facility in Greater Manchester, the UK.

The project involves the construction of a 46,451m2 area mixed-use facility. It includes the construction of office space, two 19-story hotel of a 212-room in Crowne Plaza and 116-room in Staybridge Suites, residential units, leisure space, retail space and related facilities.

BDP and Leach Rhodes Walker have been appointed as the architect; the University of Manchester, Alliance Manchester Business School as the associate developer; and M&L Hospitality and Cycas Hospitality as the management contractor.

In August 2014, DTZ was appointed to advise the selection of the developer.

In December 2014, Capital & Centric in a joint venture with Carillion, Bruntwood, First Step, Valad and Muse Developments are shortlisted as developers for the project.

In May 2015, Muse Developments and Bruntwood are in the tender process following the withdrawal of Capital & Centric, Valad and First Step.

In September 2015, Muse Developments has withdrawn from the final stage of the tender process.

In February 2016, Bruntwood Construction was appointed as the associate developer.

In July 2016, construction works commenced.

In January 2017, the topping-out ceremony was held.

Construction works are underway and scheduled to be complete in the second quarter of 2018.
