Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) and Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO), are planning to build a light rail line in New Jersey, the US.

The project involves the construction of a 29km railway infrastructure. It will include the construction of 14 stations, parking facilities, waiting areas, overhead foot bridges and other related infrastructure, the installation of signal systems, safety equipments, electric posts and the laying of railway tracks.

In 2007, the Alternatives Analysis Study (AAS) was commenced and completed in 2009 suggesting the route from Glassboro to Camden as the preferred option for transit expansion in Southern New Jersey.

In February 2012, DRPA through a competitive process, entered into a US$8.3 million contract with STV Incorporated (STV) to prepare Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is the Lead Federal Agency, Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) and Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO) will act as the project manager and NJ TRANSIT is providing US$8.1 million as funding for the environmental study.

In November 2014, the project placed on hold due to the lack of ownership.

In January 2017, Environmental Impact Statement(EIS) was submitted for the project also DRPA was seeking funds for the project.

Final EIS is expected to be approved in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Study activities are underway.
