Lewiston Public Schools (LPS) is undertaking the construction of an elementary school in Lewiston, Maine, the US.

The project involves the construction of a 22,296m2 elementary school. It includes the construction of Career Technical Education Center, 1,000 seat performing art center, classrooms, an administrative space, staff rooms, a gym, parking and related facilities.

The construction work will be executed in multiple phases.

On August 17, 2015, the school committee unanimously voted to build an elementary school.

On March 15, 2016, the school committee approved the proposals submitted by LPS.

On April 14, 2016, LPS received approval for design concept from the Maine State Board of Education.

On June 14, 2016, Lewiston voters approved for construction and for spending an extra US$2.1 million of taxpayer money to fund a new full-sized gymnasium and air conditioning for the school.

On January 11, 2017, the final rendering of the project was displayed to the school committee.

The State of Maine will fund the US$49.7 million for the development of the project.

Beniton Construction (Beniton) was appointed as general contractor, Kenaston Corp will work with Beniton as the project consultant; M A DeAtley Construction Inc as the excavation contractor; Lavallee-Brensinger as the architect for the new performing arts center.

On February 20, 2018, groundbreaking ceremony was held for the project.

Excavation work is underway on the first phase and scheduled for completion on April 27, 2018, and second phase excavation works are slated for completion by the end of 2018. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2020.
