The Walsall Town Council (WTC) and the Highways Agency (HA) in collaboration with the Department for Transport (DfT) are planning to upgrade M6 Junction 10 in Walsall, West Midlands, the UK.

The project will replace the bridges over the M6 motorway, the widening of motorways lanes, the construction of hard shoulders, the modernization of Bloxwich lane junction, the modification of black county route, and the installation of traffic sign boards.

HA initiated public consultation exhibitions in December 2015 with below options:

Option 1A: Two new straight four lane bridges.

Option 1B: Two new curved four lane bridges.

The DfT and HA are funding 50% and Black Country LEP is funding 50% to implement this project.

In June 2017, Survey and investigation work commenced.

On August 17, 2017, Highways England Company Limited appointed as an associate developer for the project.

Planning works are underway. Subject to approval, construction will start in the fourth quarter of 2018 and complete in the fourth quarter of 2020.

The project involves the improvement of Junction 10 on M6 motorway in Walsall town, West Midlands, the UK.

The US$97 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of embankments
2. Construction of retaining structures
3. Installation of street lights
4. Construction of Emergency Refuge Areas (ERAs)
5. Installation of safety fencing
6. Installation of overhead signs and signals
