The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) is planning to construct the S17 expressway from Piaski to Hrebenne in Lublin Voivodeship, Poland.

It includes the construction of 17 interchanges, seven rest areas, trestles, bridges, viaducts, underpasses, noise screens, drainage systems and the reconstruction of several sections of the local road and utility supply networks.

In November 2008, DrogMost Lubelski Sp. z o.o. (DLS) carried out an environment impact study for the project.

In September 2009, Dro-Konsult Sp. z o.o. (DKS) has carried out a project feasibility study.

GDDKiA submitted an environment impact assessment (EIA) application to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development (MoID) in April 2011.

In May 2013, GDDKiA made amendments to the EIA application.

GDDKiA held public consultations to discuss project plans in August 2013.

In November 2014, MoID included the project under the National Road Construction Programme for the period 2014-2022.

In April 2016, Regional Directorate of Environmental Protection issued an environmental decision on the project.

In September 2017, Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction has approved the project.

The entire project scheduled for completion by 2024.

The project involves the construction of a 133.3km two-lane expressway from Piaski to Hrebenne in Lublin Voivodeship, Poland.
