The Qatar Museum Authority (QMA) is undertaking the construction of Doha National Museum Development project in Doha, Qatar.

The project involves the construction of a 20,990m2 museum on 5.3ha of land. It includes the construction of 8,000m2 permanent gallery space and 2,000m2 temporary gallery space, a 115,000m2 park with an artificial lagoon, a 220-seat auditorium, heritage research center, conservation laboratories, a 70-seat food forum, collection storages, offices, two retail outlets, two restaurants and a cafe, a museum shop and 400 parking spaces, the installation of safety and security systems.

Jean Nouvel Architects has been appointed as an architect and Eric Maria Architectes as design consultant, BCS Facade & INGPHI as facade consultants, Scherler AG as lighting consultant, AVEL Acoustique as an accoustic consultant, Aecom as landscaping engineer, Gehry Technology as BIM management consultant, Qatar Design Consortium (QDC) as architect of record, Aecom & Parsons as road design consultant, Arup as engineering consultant and ASTAD Project Management as project and program management consultant for the project.

On September 4, 2011, Hyundai Engineering & Construction was awarded US$434 million construction contract.

On February 23, 2012, Eversendai Corporation was awarded US$26 million structural steel work contract.

In September 2013, Hill International was selected as construction manager for the project.

Construction works are underway and scheduled to open in December 2018.
