Goseong Green Power Co., Ltd (GGP) is planning to construct a coal-fired power plant in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.

The project involves the construction of a 2,100MW coal-fired power plant. It comprises of two units with a capacity of 1050MW each. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation, raw water storage tanks and a coal storage unit, the installation of supercritical circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) boilers, steam turbines and generators, and the laying of water transmission pipelines and transmission lines.

Shinhan Financial Group Co. has been appointed as financial adviser.

On April 17, 2014, SK Gas board of directors approved a plan to buy 19% stake in GGP at the cost of US$166 million.

On October 10, 2014, KEPCO Engineering & Contruction Company signed a contract to provide architect and engineering services for the project. As part of the contract, KEPCO E&C is to carry out conceptual design for preparatory stage, basic and detailed design for preconstruction stage,and basic and detailed design for construction stage, and to provide on-site technical support .

On December 7, 2015, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction signed a contract to supply the main equipment, including boilers and turbines for the project.

On August 31, 2016, Samho Development has signed an construction contract agreement with SK Engineering & Construction for the project.

The construction works are expected to be completed for unit one in October 2020 and for unit two in April 2021 respectively.

The project involves the construction of a 2,100MW coal-fired power plant in Goseong, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.
