Tied up: Import penetration and contracting apparel industry demand weigh on the industry
Abstract
Textile Mills in the US The Textile Mills industry includes various manufacturers of fiber, yarn and thread, fabric finishing and coating, curtain, linen and narrow fabric. Industry operators serve a plethora of downstream markets, including apparel, automobile and home furnishing manufacturers. Thus, the performance of these markets has a significant effect on industry revenue. Over the past decade, industry operators have experienced mounting competition from developing countries with low labor costs. As a result, demand from domestic apparel manufacturers has shrunk considerably. In response, operators have increasingly relied on automobile and home furnishing markets to keep revenue from declining at a faster pace. Over the five years to 2024, industry revenue is anticipated to continue decreasing, albeit at a slower rate.
This industry is a collection of a variety of textile manufacturers. Most notably, establishments categorized in this industry spin yarn from various fibers, manufacture woven and nonwoven fabrics, produce window curtains and drapes and finish and coat an array of textile products.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
