Malaysia in 2030: The Future Demographic

In 2030, the population of Malaysia will reach 36.0 million, an increase of 22.6% from 2012. Population growth has been slowing down since the 1980s and this will continue in 2012-2030 due to a fall in natural change after 2016 and lower rates of net migration than experienced in the previous three decades. Despite rapid growth of the 60+ age groups in 2012-2030, the population will remain relatively young with three quarters of the population aged under 50 years in 2030.
